Dedicated young people in Nandi continue the revolutionary society transformation by offering their time, skills and labour to bring about change in our lovely communities. Not only males, but also ladies are in the battle of free, prosperous and democratic community around us. Our best feature the “Youth of The Month” today brings one beautiful queen Sheila Cheruto.
Sheila Cheruto hails from Barasendu area in Nandi Hills. She studied at Kapkeben AIC Girls High School where she discovered her ability to do social work and community development programs no matter how hard it was.
She is also a former student of Eldoret Polytechnic and currently volunteering at the Kenya Red Cross Society for a period of 3 years now.
The sole reason that Sheila has volunteered for this long time is to give back to the society by ensuring that the lives and welfare of the people are improved and cared for. She grew up with lots of challenges that the community faces and her vow wasn’t to sit back and watch the community crying yet she could help.
Calling Youths and County Leaders to Action
“I believe that even if we are jobless we can also try to see how we can help rather than engaging ourselves in drugs or any crimes. I know my dream will one day be fulfilled.”
Laments the powerful lady passionate about change of lives, a community without poverty and developments in entire Nandi Hills.
“As a lady I have to fight for what is right for us the youth because the future is in our hands, and Nandi County will be determined by how we work. Togetherness is the best thing and let’s all make our County shine by fighting corruption, impunity, helping each other to fulfill the dreams and ensure that we support our leaders in every way we can.”
“Nandi Hills will only rise and be the best if we invest in it. Don’t belittle our town only to go to big cities forgetting your home town. Nairobi started as a small center, why not our town? We need to finish what our ancestors started because we are able if we all do it.”
